Our brains and nervous systems are constantly responding to what we hear and experience. When we're stressed or overwhelmed, the body can get stuck in a state of being "on," making it harder to relax even when we know we need to.
The steady tones and vibrations of sound can give your attention something calming to focus on while encouraging slower breathing, physical relaxation, and a shift out of that constant state of alertness.
Research on singing bowls and sound-based meditation suggests that these practices may help reduce stress, anxiety, tension, fatigue, and low mood while supporting relaxation and mindfulness.
Think of it as giving your nervous system a chance to turn the volume down.
Sometimes healing starts with talking. Sometimes it starts with simply getting quiet enough to hear what your body has been trying to tell you.
Bringing sound to you
What is Sound therapy?
Sound therapy is a simple way to use sound and vibration to help your body slow down, settle, and reconnect.
During a sound therapy session, I use instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other soothing sounds to create an environment that supports relaxation. You don't have to know how to meditate, clear your mind, or "do" anything perfectly. You can simply get comfortable, listen, and let your body respond.
who is it for?
Sound therapy can be a helpful addition to counseling for people who:
Feel stressed, overwhelmed, or constantly "on"
Struggle with anxiety or racing thoughts
Have difficulty slowing down or being present
Are experiencing burnout or emotional exhaustion
Feel disconnected from their body or emotions
Want support with relaxation and nervous system regulation
Simply need a little more space to breathe and reset
Sound therapy can be especially helpful when words aren't enough. Sometimes we can understand exactly why we're stressed and still have a body that hasn't gotten the message that it's okay to slow down.
how does it work?
Sound therapy is best experienced in person, where you can fully experience the sound and vibration of the instruments.
In-home sessions are available throughout Tampa and surrounding areas, bringing the experience directly to you in a comfortable, familiar setting.
